The Submachine Guns (SMG) or Personal Defense Weapons (PDW) are a class of assault or select-fire weapons created to deliver fast rate of fire with low recoil, which is great at dealing with crowds and threats at close quarters, at the cost rapid ammo consumption. With ease of use, large capacity magazines, a full-auto mode or burst-fire mode in addition to a single shot mode, they are able to both clear larger groups of zombies or single threats with ease. They may also be equipped with a suppressor and upgraded at home sites.

- The MPX is the only weapon of the whole SMG class which dosen't feature a automatic firing mode.
