In the State of Decay 2: Heartland DLC and Update 26 (Homecoming Update), Ray Santos makes his own appearance as part of The Network.

Heartland[]

Ray Santos appears as a non-playable character and can't be recruited to the Jurassic Junction's community. His enclave and base of operation is at McReady Farmhouse.

Update 26 (Homecoming Update)[]

Ray also appears in this update as a non-playable and non-recruitable character. He is still part of The Network and most of the time called as "The Helper". But he was struck by cancer that limited him from helping other communities. His responsibility was then passed on to Mickey Wilkerson after his death.

Missions involving the character[]

Unlocking the character[]

Ray Santos is unlocked by killing 400 zombies (100 in YOSE) with vehicle door.

Special: Vehicle Delivery[]

  • In State of Decay, after completing the mission Sweet Ride, the player is rewarded with the Radio Command Vehicle Delivery.
  • In Breakdown, the player has access to this radio command, as long Ray Santos is in the community and not under player control.

Backstory[]

Raymundo Santos is a member of local government that lives at the County Court House. Ray's family has deep roots in Trumbull Valley, and Ray's father was the mayor of Marshall before the outbreak, and taught him to always help those in need. Ray adopted this belief well; before the outbreak, he was actively helping people, including Lily Ritter, who he gave $10,000 to pay for her medical bills when her insurance wouldn't cover it. Ray is very proud of his family and disapproves of Judge Lawton's decisions.

Currently in State of Decay 2 he is part of the Network, although due to his illness he can no longer respond to the calls of the new communities that are integrated in Trumbull Valley.

Trivia[]

  • Voice actor: Christopher Smith.
  • After his missions are completed, Ray allows the player more hardware at the courthouse through his community connections.
  • A time before the events of State of Decay, Ray was alleged to be involved in a corruption scandal, but was not found guilty.
  • In State of Decay 2 Ray has a conversation with your character where he comments that he is dying of cancer.
