The 983 Squirrel is a Rifle added in the Breakdown DLC.

Summary[]

Durable, quiet, deadly. The 983 Squirrel is an effective and valuable addition to any survivor's loadout. This rifle can be found from very early on and due to the low amount of noise released when fired, it is extremely handy for sharpshooting. The main drawback to the rifle is its lack of stopping power, which stems from the .22 rounds it chambers.

Notes[]

The 983 Squirrel is based on the Marlin Model 983, a bolt-action rifle, chambered in .22 LR and is able to hold 12 cartridges at once.
The 983 Squirrel can tend to be the player's first found Rifle, being a common find upon Mt. Tanner. Should it be found, it is usually suggested to eventually let Maya Torres take hold of it, for she is not just only good with using Rifles, but the Rifle itself is quieter than the one she is found with.
